This Glossary is a tool for everyone who wants to learn or work in the world of business. It's a compilation of important words or keywords with their definitions that could help you in Business. I did it to help you understand some common terms used in Business industry.

Assets
noun
property owned by a person or company, regarded as having value and available to meet debts, commitments, or legacies.
Example: IMPORTANCE OF CORPORATE BRANDS In recent years, corporate brands have become enormously valuable ASSETS - companies with strong corporate brands can have market values that are more than twice their book values.

Business-to-business (B2B) is a transaction or business conducted between one business and another, such as a wholesaler and retailer
Example: My Organisations prefer to sell Business to Business (B2B) rather than Business to Consumer (B2C)

adjective
B2C stands for business-to-consumer and pertain to transactions that take place between a business and an individual as the end customer.
Example: the computer manufacturer selling directly to the consumer (B2C)

noun
the state of being bankrupt (a person or a company declared in law unable to pay outstanding debts.).
Example: many companies were facing bankruptcy

noun or verb
an advantage or profit gained from something.
Example: enjoy the benefits of being a member

Brand Equity
a phrase
the commercial value that derives from consumer perception of the brand name of a particular product or service, rather than from the product or service itself.
Example: In similar vein, a significant drawback is that products may not be treated individually and this reduces the product's characteristics as customers might get confused of its offerings and hence, damages the BRAND EQUITY.

Break Even

reach a point in a business venture when the profits are equal to the costs.
Example: the firm will break even at the operating level this year

noun
the total amount of money being transferred into and out of a business, especially as affecting liquidity.

Competitive Advantage
noun
a condition or circumstance that puts a company in a favorable or superior business position.
Example: expansion is vital to maintaining a competitive advantage

an amount that has to be paid or spent to buy or obtain something or estimate the price of.
Example: 1.we are able to cover the cost of the even. 2.it is their job to plan and cost a media schedule for the campaign.

the person who actually uses a particular product.
Example: The end user of this minivan will be parents

noun
the activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.
Example: the new business opportunities have encouraged entrepreneurship on a grand scale

Liabilities
noun
a thing for which someone is responsible, especially a debt or financial obligation.

noun
the portion of a market controlled by a particular company or product.
Example: a leading internet service provider with a 15 percent market share

outsourcing
noun
obtain (goods or a service) from an outside or foreign supplier, especially in place of an internal source.
Example: The trend towards subcontracting and, to use another example, OUTSOURCING, allows larger firms to 'take advantage of both functional and numerical flexibility' (1987:91) relieving them of the responsibility of expensive knowledge workers and, at the same time, benefiting from their knowledge.

Overdraft
noun
An overdraft occurs when there isn't enough money in an account to cover a transaction or withdrawal, but the bank allows the transaction anyway. Essentially, it's an extension of credit from the financial institution that is granted when an account reaches zero.

the system of people and organizations that are involved in getting a product from the place where it is made to customers
Example: Every step of the retail supply chain is now tracked by computers.
